A Goodbye Letter from Ms. O’Renick and Ms. Taye

Dear Fir Ridge Students and Families,

We are writing to announce that we’ll both be leaving Fir Ridge over the summer. Ms. O’Renick will be moving to Eugene to be near family and has accepted a position at Oaklea Middle School in Junction City. Ms. Taye will remain in David Douglas, and has accepted a position at Alice Ott Middle School. We always encourage our students to find ways to grow, and we are heeding our own advice by taking on new challenges and our next adventures in life.
It’s been such a pleasure to work with the students, staff, and families of Fir Ridge. We’ve accomplished so much during our time together! In recent years, Fir Ridge’s SBAC writing scores have jumped by more than 20%, student attendance and participation has increased by signifiant margins, our referrals were down by almost half last year, and so many of our grads are going on to college, trade schools, and great careers! Your hard work and dedication have made this achievement possible! Alternative doesn’t mean less, and you, the students of Fir Ridge, are the incredible future leaders of our state with bright paths ahead of you!
Even though we’re moving on physically, we will always have Fir Ridge in our hearts. You’ll never stop being our students, and we’ll never stop being there for you if you need us. We’ll miss you!
